New Years Eve Dec. 29th, 2010 @ 10:23 pm
Unofficial "Oh hey its the end of the year" get together thingamajig at our house Friday night. Don't really have any details yet, just come over and we'll drink bubbly and have fun. We'll start around 7:30 or 8 but come whenever.

Also Aspen suggested a new years eve lan party (yes shocking) and while it was half joking I wouldn't say no if people wanted to bring computers over (I understand that it would be rather annoying trying to get them home at midnight or whenever, just tossing it out there because I never say no to lan parties. Or we could just game until the sun came up.)

Monday Night Nov. 28th, 2010 @ 06:10 pm
The next Monday night (tomorrow) will be at our place. I think most people know but wanted to make sure. Let either of us know if you need directions.

Fireworks Jul. 4th, 2010 @ 03:54 pm
Aspen and I are planning on going up Pete's Hill to watch the fireworks tonight. I don't know exactly when or exactly where on the hill we will be, but I figured I'd post this since we realized that we haven't mentioned this to anyone. Feel free to join us, I'll try to get details :P.

Hail Storm Clouds

So ya, I think I'm going to be staying inside for a while.

So I've been through all my IM history files and I've added it all up. Over the past four - no, more of three years since I didn't have a computer in training, Aspen and I have exchanged about 166,000 lines of conversation on instant messenger.

Now the history files have some blank lines or lines without actual conversation text at places, and giving it a high estimate there might be about 6,000 lines like that. So that takes it down to 160,000 lines.

If I were to give it a guess at an average of 5 words per line (which I think we probably were usually higher then, but not sure) that would total up to 800,000 words. That's about 50% more words then War and Peace or the entire Lord of the Rings series, and a few thousand more then the Bible.

. . . I used to joke with Aspen about how I could turn our conversations into a how too book on long distance relationships or what not, but I always figured I'd have to add to much writing of my own for it to be doable. Now I realize I'd have to cut out so much that all the good stuff would be gone.

In other words I have internet again and I'm finally reunited with my baby.

. . . and Aspen, it's good to see her too.

Any recommendations on Bozeman internet providers?

So I'm done. Completely. DD214 is in hand and uniform is packed away. It's a weird feeling. I mean, I'm happy, but this was also the last four years of my life, so its a new experience. Also right now I am just looking forward to getting home, I'll probably have more thoughts once I'm there.

(P.S. Do any of my nerd friends have advice for a good computer chair and/or desk? Desk isn't a big deal, I can use any just fine really, but I'd like to get a nice chair.)
